Theater Words was developed at The Shipley School in Bryn
Mawr, Pennsylvania to meet the needs of the theater
classroom. While most plays found in theatrical catalogues
feature plays with roles for more men than for woman, most
theater classes enroll more women than men. Furthermore,
pieces written exclusively for women actors tend to be few.
In response to this anomaly the works featured here are
either written without specific gender requirements or
specifically for women.
All the plays here may be performed without royalty. We
only ask that you tell us about your production and offer us
your thoughts.
